I can not believe I am writing this....again...
Yesterday we had our u/s for hb at 9am. We saw a perfect little baby with a hb. There was another sac (maybe a twin not sure) but it was in the way of him being able to really measure the hb. He told us he's 90% sure everything was fine and said the baby looked perfect. We were to come back in 1 week to get a better look and check for growth. Everything else on the baby was measuring perfect and the RE was definitely pleased. Earlier in the week i had some bleeding from an irritated cervix. When we left the RE's office i felt some cramping and pressure and figured he irritated me from the u/s. By the time we got home (barely 40 minutes) I could feel I was bleeding or something. I barely made it up the stairs and there was blood everywhere, complete with clots. Ok, maybe im irritated. Put on a pad and hang out for a bit. Im having waves of cramps (seriously probably contractions) and really didnt think this was good. Not even an hour later i have soaked through the pad and my clothes and have passed clots. Fabulous. Call the RE who was shocked by what i was telling him, given we were just there and had a fabulous u/s. He said if the bleeding continued and i kept passing clots that we would have to go to the ER. Now mind you, Hurricane Irene was rolling in. We were limited in hospital choices because some stated to evacuate and some just suck. Not even another hour later and ive soaked through another pad and more clothes. Poor DH was in denial and dragging his feet about going. Yeah no one likes the ER, especially during a hurricane! I finally convince him we should go now and better to be safe then sorry.
We called the RE and he agreed we should go to the ER, he was even in denial that i was m/c. We get there and wait for about an hour and by then, ive soaked through more clothes. I finally get into a room and over the course of many hours i had an internal exam which showed my cervix was dialated at least a fingertip and she could see more clots. Then an ultrasound and some bloodwork. Finally we got the results that the u/s showed "heterogenous material in the endometrium", no sac, no perfect baby that was there not even 12 hours ago. I continued to m/c in the hospital and by the time we were given the news it was over. They called it a "spontaneous abortion". The ER dr spoke to my RE on the phone and they confirmed it was over. I was discharged (with a UTI none the less) and was told i could discontinue Crinone, Estrace and PIO. We made it home before the storm hit.
I dont know what to do with myself. My RE is so upset and wants to run a lot of tests. I am willing to stick it out with him and see what he comes up with and may start looking for another specialist on the side. I love him and dont want to leave him but we need to find out why i cant stay pregnant. Getting pregnant doesn't seem to be a problem, but i can't keep a baby past 6 weeks. DH and i have decided to take a lot of time off, get healthy drop some weight and keep trying on our own. You never know. Thanks for all of your continued support! xoxoxo
Re: XP: Again?!?!?
I am so, so sorry you are going through this pain again. You and YH are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope your RE can run some tests and find some answers for you both. ((hugs))
