Selling a brand new Kelty kids carrier - advice

We bought a Kelty Kids carrier a couple years ago for $199, and we also bought the sunshade for it (which was extra $).  We tried it out a couple times but it still has all the tags on it, so it's basically unused (like a trip around the block).

What do you think my best bet would be for selling it?  And how much should I sell it for?  It's brand new/ with tags - but it's also a couple years old (but still in mint shape).  I never consign big items because they take such a big cut.  I'm thinking Craigs, but since it is NWT maybe Ebay is my best bet?  But then maybe people are turned off by shipping costs?  Any ideas?

Thanks... our basement is leaking so we're doing some spring cleaning, so to speak :P

  • The price also depends on whether they make it anymore and what the clearance prices were.  We bought our Kelty Journey back pack carrier with sunshade on sale online for just over $100 shipped 4 yrs ago, it was NWT and from a retail site.  Around the same time, another mom in our play group bought the same exact carrier without the sunshade for just under $200 brand new with tag off Ebay.  I think we saw it at EMS for around $219.  I would check to see if your carrier is still being sold in stores, if it isn't you will get less for it.  Then I would check Ebay to see what they are going for.  Then I would try to sell it for that price on Craigslist.  If it doesn't sell then I would give Ebay a try.

  • Where did u buy it? We had one too, only $75 from B3 but I sat on it for a year and returned it! Still had tags but I didn't have a receipt since they expire after 90 days there. I got store credit! =)

Otherwise I would try ebay first...sometimes shipping doesn't bother some! I only say ebay first because I hate dealing with CL shoppers!
