Toddler mom's - wear underwear to bed?

Lucy is not wearing pull-ups at night anymore (yay!) but dh and I can't decide if she should be wearing unders at night or not.  I don't wear any with my pj pants or nightgown.  DH always wears his boxers, even in the summer with flannel pj pants, I don't get it.

Don't the lady parts like to breathe?

  • I don't think it matters. It's not like she's combatting all those normal lady junk that comes with puberty hormones.

I'd go either way. If she likes 'em, wear 'em. If she goes potty easier in the middle of the night without 'em, skip 'em.

  • I didn't realize that a lot of people sleep without them until I was well out of college. lol! So my girls sleep in undies and generally I do too out of habit.

  • We use to have DS wear underware to bed with PJ's. We stopped putting underware on him because I hated peeling cold pee underware off of him in the morning fpr the occasional accident. It grossed me out.  He is now 5 and still doesn't wear underware with PJ's.
  • The medical consensus is that it is healthier to sleep without underpants.

I sleep in mine, simply out of habit...but I will most likely have Caro sleep without them when we cross that bridge.

  • Is it odd that as someone who sleeps in the buff I never even thought to have my kids sleep commando?

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
  • I always sleep in underwear. Seems weird to me not to! But I agree with the poster who said to let her decide what she likes better.
