Review of refillable puree pouch

I posted a question about this a few days ago and received my first of 2 different pouches in the mail today.  The one I received today is called the Sili Squeeze.  I gave it to my LO and she loved it!  I filled it with some of my pear puree and she sucked it down.  No mess!  Definitely will be using this while we are out and about.  Very cool product and after reading the info on it saw that it was a mommy made idea and company. Their website is: https://thesilico.com/  if you are interested.  I also ordered the Beaba Babypote- haven't got it yet in the mail but will post another review in this thread when I do.  Just wanted to share- there were a few of you who said you would be interested in a refillable pouch.  Here's a pic of my LO chowing down.  :-)

  • That's great! Thanks for the update. I'll pass this onto a few friends with younger babies :)

  • I wondered if there was such a thing out there.  My toddler (and baby but mostly toddler) loves those organic food pouches.  Would be great to have one I can refill!
  • What's the difference between this and a bottle with a bigger opening? Or a sippy?

Thanks!  Yes, she totally digs her new little pouch- it's cute.

The red part is really soft- so it's squeezable.  Similar concept to those foil packs (like the Plum baby ones, or other brands- just can't think of the names right now).  I also like it because it is really spillproof.  You can't just squeeze it to get the puree out- somehow the valve doesn't open.

Ahhhh. I was thinking "This looks like a glorified sippy."

I get it though, that might be handy since LO won't drink out of a sippy or bottle. Some puree with BM when I'm not around might be possible.

*off to contemplate the possibility of a short break from babies*

  • How well does it clean?  That's my biggest concern with the refillable ones is that I won't be able to get it clean enough.

So far I've just been running really hot water in it to get all the gunk out (most of it just runs right out because it's not drying in there or anything), then I just squirt in a little soap and continue to rinse it out.  Haven't had an issue cleaning it- it holds its shape pretty well and the opening is quite large.  I could probably fit a smaller bottle brush down there if I needed.

So I just ran over to the squeeze thing and checked- yep I can fit my bottle brush down it without a problem.  Also, I read the tag it says it's "100% dishwasher top rack safe."  Haven't tried that yet so can't vouch for it, but I'm sure it would work fine.

  • wondering if this would be a good option for my son and yogurt.  he LOVES those yogurt pouches and they are perfect for our walk home from daycare.  i hate buying them b/c even though the pouches are recyclable here.

i'll have to check this out....Thanks!

  • Oooh I want one. DS has no interest in a spoon but loves the plum pouches cause he can do it himself. This would be great to have.

  • I have to admit that I succumbed to the temptation after learning of this last night.  I bought the combo 4 oz and 6 oz.

  • Ok, so I just got the Beaba Babypote in the mail today.  This is the 2nd type that I ordered to see which one we liked better.  Same concept- squeezable soft pouch that you put purees in for your LO.  The major difference is that the BabyPote is not spillproof.  It is easier for Emily to suck out the puree, but then she is also able to squeeze it out really quickly as well.  There's no special bite valve like the other Sili one.  The BabyPote is good, but would definitely only use it while in a highchair until she is old enough to figure out how to monitor the squeezing/flow issue.  I used the Sili squeeze again today while we were out taking a walk in the stroller- loved it.  I've attached a pic of what happened about 5 seconds after using the Babypote.  Live and learn.

I must be the only person who has never given my kid a pouch food. I feel so out of it.  And I definitely did not know that refillable pouches were even available. This is interesting. Thanks for posting your review!

No problem, it was fun.  I have learned so much on this site about other things people have used that it was fun to be able to review a product and share our opinions on it.

  • I have a Beaba Babypote and really like it but it takes SO much food to fill it. I will have to try that 4oz Sili Squeeze.
