Boy Names - update

Update- I showed DH the nimbler website last night and he messed around on it a while and came back and told me he really really likes the name Clayton.  Clayton Michael C___.  I do like it, so I think that is our #1 pick for at least right now!

 

 

So I have been bugging DH about names now that we know it is a boy.  We didn't have this problem with dd bc we both individually had said our #1 girl name was elizabeth, so when it was a girl we didn't even need to discuss any further.  If she had been a boy, he suggested Caleb Michael (Michael is his mn and 99% sure will be this baby's mn) and it really grew on me and I just love the name Caleb now.  DH suddenly is unsure about Caleb.  I hope he comes back to it.  Our neighbor's buddy is Caleb and they call him Lubby and I think that is his issue now.  Would be even funnier if Elizabeth goes by Libby in the future instead of Ellie hahaha!  OMG I just thought of that and am dying, but could never tell DH bc then I know Caleb would never happen.

I suggested also Ethan - he wants no name that starts with E bc of Ellie even though I told him it is not like we are having 10 kids all with the same letter - we are done!.  So moms of Ethan, what were other names you really liked?

I suggested Brandon also.....and he said what about Brendan?  I was like, do you mean Brennan?  Did you just make this name up?  So considering it is the only name he has suggested so far, I am seeing if it will grow on me.  I mean I do like it....I just like Brandon so much better.

Other names he has vetoed for one reason or another (usually bc he does not like the nickname) - Lucas, Justin, Ryan, Matthew, Jacob, Andrew.  I don;t know, I threw out a ton of names but these are the ones that I remember.

    I have a weird thing about nicknames....I tend to like names that can't be shortened into a common nickname.  Names on my list were Evan, Ethan, Tanner, Carter (ds), Parker, Brady, Cole, and Kyle.  DH vetoed many of mine for different reasons but we ended up with Carter Michael.  Good Luck!!!

    :). i have decided I need to have a little boy because I need to have a child named Micah.

    I honestly do not like Caleb much.. the B sound at the end just bugs me. You don't want your kids to be called Libby and Lubby?Big Smile

    I like Ethan, and I think Ethan and Ellie sound adorable together...but it is pretty common.

    Brendan is definitely a real name.. I know a few of them, and I actually like it better than Brandon, personally.  But, I also like Brennan a LOT.

    If you go to nymbler.com you can enter names you like and it will suggest other names similar to it.  I just tried to copy and paste from there but it turned out funky. We only agree on one boy name (Owen) and one girl name (Julia) so we are sticking to those! lol Our naming styles are vastly different so the fact we have one of each is remarkable! 

    I don't think 2 E names are bad, like you said it's not like you're going to be the next Duggars, and it's not like both of your names, and your kids names all start with E.  FWIW the boy name we picked is becoming pretty popular which irks me (same thing happened to Ava's name) but I still like it.  GL and see you tomorrow!

    I think Owen and Mason along the same lines as Ethan and are both a *little* less common.  I have a niece named Elizabeth (goes by Ellie) her brother is Aaron.  They were also considering Wesley.

    If we had a boy this time, his name would have been Miles.  I like Owen, Anthony, and Tanner, too.

    A lot of the ones that you listed, are my favorite boys' names.  I am pretty traditional in the names that I like.  I also like Liam, Christopher, Parker.  I am so so about Caleb.  I think two kids with the same beginning would be fine.
