Serious I have been watching it since 9am when my H woke me up saying "the tree is coming down" (quite a way to wake up). The wind knocked it into another tree. So that the other tree is holding it up w/ its branches.
Every time the wind blows there is a crack from the tree, branches fall but the tree remains.
It is not my tree but my neighbors - and he is elderly and his son takes care of him so I am not even sure anyone over there really knows the tree is ripped out and about to fall over.
All I need is a gust of wind from another direction and there will be a lot more damage then if the tree just fell down now (it would take an old fence at this point).
I tried calling the fire department - none emergency, and they are not answering... I am sure they are dealing w/ emergencies.
I tried calling the city - no answer.
Not sure what I can do. Can I call a tree removal guy and just send the bill to my neighbor? Or wait and pray it doesn't fall (in the wrong direction) tonight.
Hopefully the son will come by tomorrow to check in on things??
Re: And the tree still hasn't fallen...
Its getting to be a big late now, but do you have the son's phone number (or can you look it up)? I might call him just so that he's aware of what is going on so he can address it first thing tomorrow.
I hope that the tree doesn't fall!
I didn't have the sons number, he is there now though.
The tree ended up falling about a half hour ago. A gust of wind came and blew it in the complete opposite direction onto my neighbors house. Luckily no major damage and noone was hurt.
