everyday minerals vs bare minerals

I currently use bare minerals but I was thinking about changing to everyday minerals. Has anyone used both?

Re: everyday minerals vs bare minerals

  • I haven't tried Everyday Minerals yet, but I switched from Bare Minerals to Mixology about a month ago.  Their stuff ranks much better than Bare Minerals in the EWG database (3 vs. a 7 for most foundations).

Mixology isn't as finely milled as B.M. but that doesn't really bother me at all.  It has better coverage, but my t-zone looks a little more oily late in the day than it did with B.M.  It's a little less expensive, but not by much.

For any mineral makeup, if you haven't found a brush you absolutely love I highly recommend trying the E.L.F. Studio flat top Powder Brush.  I just got it last week and I'm in love.  I replaced a $20 brush with a $3 one and it's taking me about half as long to put on foundation.

  • I used Bare Minerals years ago and hated that it made my face look shiny. I switched to an independent company and used them for a long time until they did away with their online business (which makes me want to check out Mixology--heard good things!). I now use EM and I really like the different formulations and color selection. Some mineral makeup companies have too many neon and sparkly choices for my taste. EM is simple and, if you catch what you need on sale, relatively inexpensive. And it lasts forever!
