DH has never bathed the boys. In 5 months of life, this has NEVER happened. He has just volunteered for bath duty tonight. Hmmm, I wonder how this will turn out...
Do you bathe them at the same time or one at a time? I can't imagine how hard that would be. Maybe this will turn into his new thing. That would nice.
We have a little routine set up, it's a tag-team effort. They can't sit up unassisted yet and they don't tolerate the Bumbos for more than a few minutes, so we haven't started bathing them together in the big boy tub. We're still using the infant tub (without the sling) in the sink since they still fit (although that's not gonna last much longer! They're long babies). Usually, bathtime looks like this:
DH fills the tub while I undress the first baby (it varies from night to night who goes first). Then I wash baby 1 while DH undresses baby 2. When baby 1 is done being washed, we trade off. I bathe baby 2 while DH dresses baby 1 and gives him his medicine (they're on Zantac for reflux). DH then starts feeding baby 1. After baby 2's bathed, I drain the tub and dress baby 2 and give him his meds. Then I feed baby 2. Then we cuddle with the boys for about 5-10 minutes and they go to bed. Bathtime is definitely a production at our house! I'm sure we'll keep the same routine tonight, with a role reversal.

Holy Moly I don't envy that but it sounds like a very well oiled machine.
We usually take a shower with E because she hasn't done well with baths. DH or I will get in and take our shower while the other gets her undressed and ready. We have to have her towel and sleeper or outfit ready to go. Then whoever is getting her undressed hands her to the person in the shower and then gets undressed. DH always holds her while I soap her up. She loves the shower. Then whoever started in the shower takes her and gets her dried off and dressed. She hates getting OUT of the shower. I think its the cold air and everything. Then whoever didn't start takes their shower. All three of us are done within 30 minutes and we only have the shower running once a day.
I'm waiting for the day she can sit unassisted. She is getting pretty good but we aren't there yet and for sure when she's wet and slippery it will be a month or two at least. But I hope by then we can transition to baths.
That's awesome! I predict a very wet DH and bathroom and some soapy boys!
I'll have to try a shower with LO - he really LOVES the bath. We lay him on the bath sponge and he kicks and kicks the water and smiles the whole time.
we've done what meismx hasdone twice. usually its more like i take a shower while dh undresses ds and hands him to me i get ds washed and hands him back to dh and i finish taking my shower while dh dries and puts clothes on ds
