At 11-13 weeks both boys and girls have a nub but if it is a boy it is up at a 30 degree angle and if it is a girl it is straight with the babies spine.
I had my NT scan on Thursday and at the ultrasound the tech said that she was 80% sure it was a girl based on that theory. Now I can stop thinking about it. I would love to hear from those of you second time moms who this worked for or didnt work for. Or those of you first time moms who already know.
TIA
Re: Anyone believe in the "angle of the dangle" theory?
Yeah it's legit, but you have to wait a little longer than 11 weeks. It's still very vague at that point.
Looks like you got a great shot of it and, yeah, I'd agree you're probably having a girl.

I'm a first timer...but I did read up on it, and from what I understand its a good educated guess but its not full proof. Depends on how well the baby is positioned, etc. Now your picture is a pretty good one and based on the various scans I have seen on-line her educated guess seems to be a pretty good one.
As for me, my baby refused to flip over so instead of lying upward he/she was lying with face downward. Doctor also gave an educated guess of a girl, but said he has been wrong. I cant figure out how he was able to see much of anything considering the baby's positioning. That being said I have picked out a girls name just in case he is right...and still searching for a boy's name.
