FFFC

I will be so glad when the vampire obsession is over!  Apologies to vampire fans, but I'm so sick of the Twilight/True Blood/Fright Night fascination.  It seriously creeps me out to even see clips of HBO's True Blood.  In fairness, I've never seen any of the shows I just mentioned, but vampires (and werewolves, for that matter) just don't do it for me and it seems like lately they're everywhere!

    Yes

  • And, let me add, I may look like a vampire(pasty, pale blue eyes), but it's not intentional and doesn't mean I feel any affinity for the sh!t.
  • I like (okay love) anything sci-fi, supernatural, etc, but I get seriously annoyed with anything that gets taken over and obsessed by tweens/teens or made super cheezy. Like Twilight or Justin Beiber. Blech.
  • We have a local digital TV channel here that just plays old movies.  Stuff from the 50s to the 80s, mostly.

Last night they had a little marathon of werewolf movies, but they were the super campy/funny ones.   I admit I watched bits and pieces of them while cleaning, folding laundry etc.

Full Moon High.. starring an extremely young Adam Arkin

Teen Wolf... starring Michael J Fox

Teen Wolf Two.. starring Jason Bateman.

  • I do love me some Buffy, but the current crop does not interest me at all. I read the Twilight series and wasn't very impressed.
    DD1 is 3, DD2 is 1.
  • I like sci-fi/fantasy too but vampires do NOT SPARKLE in the sunlight.  Vampires burst into flames in the sun.

THIS.  GNNNH!  I'd be more accepting of the whole vamp craze (not into it, but I could tolerate it) if this were about the classic vampires, nasty, vicious things.

  • I have to admit, I like True Blood; I have read all the books and am in the middle of watching the first season on DVD.  I also loved Anne Rice's vamps and I even like Laurell K. Hamilton's nearly pornographic vamps.  I kind of like the notion of vamps as sexy anti-heroes.  But I do not get the Twilight craze.  We watched the first movie and I honestly thought it was pretty stupid, and it gave me no desire to see the second one or to read the books.  My DH actually liked it, but something about that chick who plays Bella really bugs me.  I have a feeling it's more that I just don't like teenager movies, I cannot relate in any way, shape, or form to the teenagers in movies today.  Just praying that is not how real teenagers are or I am going to be in real trouble in about 10 years.
