Hello Ladies
I have bought a few pairs of maternity jeans but I only like 1 pair. I am going to return two of them I bought them at Macy's. They actually did have a pretty good selection. I am just wondering where everyone else has found some cute pants. I like distressed jeans, cargo pants, etc. As far as shirts go, I actually found alot of cute tops in the juniors dept. These days they make clothes look like maternity tops IMO. So where are the cute maternity bottoms???
Re: Where did you find cute maternity clothes?
Unfortunately you really just have to shop around. I didn't have any one store that I really loved but I found a piece here and a piece there. Also a lot of stuff is online and I just had to order, guessing at sizes, some ordered items were huge when it arrived but in the end were the only things that fit so if it comes in big you may not want to return it all.
Kohl's (in store), Old Navy ( MUCH better selection online, my fave pants), Target (sometimes picked over in store but some of my more stylish pieces). I found a few good dress pants at JCPennys and Destination Maternity. (Most of Macy's maternity clothes are actually from Motherhood).
A little pricier: Gap, Pea in a Pod (at Destination Maternity), Chulamama. I got a few pricier pieces just to have something "nice" but couldn't spend that much on clothes that I was only going to wear for a few months and that would be completely stretched out by the time I was done with them.
Agreed with what the other two post-ers suggested.
I did have some luck at the Dest. Maternity outlet in Wrentham. I actually got my fav. super stretchy fitted jeans there. Kinda had the jegging look and was cute with a maternity top.
I found Target had really cute tops!
best of luck!
one more thought... if you sign up for zulily or totsy - they sometimes have good events/sales for cute maternity stuff.
I agree with pp, you've got to shop around. I found that Gap had the best fitting jeans and tanks. Old Navy was good for dresses and skirts and Destination Maternity for fashion items (I splurged on a few trendy tops there). I also found cargos and jeans at H & M (the one near downtown crossing has a tiny, tiny maternity section).
I did not like the fit of Old Navy bottoms but it depends on your body type.
Check out Mighty Aphrodite Maternity in Salem. I'm only 9 weeks but have already peeked inside. They are all second hand but very gently used items. Some designer items too and a very cute place. It looks like a regular upscale boutique!
I also just picked up a few long and short dresses at Target, their summer maternity stuff is on sale but most of it would work great for fall with leggings or a sweater over it.
I liked GAP for pants. I shopped Mighty Aphrodite in Salem with some luck. Japanese Weekend has fantastic maternity clothes, including a line called D&A (During & After) that you can wear while pregnant and also while nursing, but they're pretty expensive.
