Even though we're not going neutral, we still had to look online at Buy Buy Baby and BRU to find nursery sets that we liked. We wanted purple and not pink, so we had to do a little extra research.

Thanks a ton. I'll head there now. JCP.com, walmart.com, overstock.com were all zeroes, haha.

Pottery Barn Kids has a couple of neutral sets. It might costs more, the their qualtiy is really good and long lasting. You may also have some lucky finding something on Etsy.com. Good luck!
I cannot take the random modern stuff that's all pastel and washed out they have these days. SO BORING!! I like a theme and I like it cute. Definitely baby, but not too baby and colorful without being too cartoony. I guess it's bc of all those years decorating my Infant classroom. This is my boy one. I hate ALL girl stuff I have found.
That one's under both "boy" and "girl." If this is a girl, tho, my MIL is making me a Cupcake theme blankie and I will buy the rest around that. I'm sure if i post that link, it'll get flamed bc it is SO NOT COOL. LOL But I am thinking, "What will the BABY like to look at?" Once they are old enough to look AROUND... They like color and animals and interesting stuff. My 3yo's room is a mash of Cars(Lightning McQueen bed;0), rockets, airplanes, animals, instruments and sports. Anything he likes is game;0)
I am making most of mine, but if I weren't I would try Etsy. They have lots of cute stuff. I'm with you, I couldn't find anything I loved, but I also didn't want a matchy matchy 4 piece set thing.
Etsy could be a good place to search. Also, https://www.babybedding.com will let you design your own with their fabric (sorry, chrome doesn't let me make it clicky). That's where we're getting ours from (the sage chirp set) and they have quite a few neutral designs (at least some of the stuff from boys I think is neutral... the one we're getting is technically boy, but a little pink here or there would easily make it girly).
