Success after IF

Success with 1 blocked tube

So my friend just had a lap that removed some endo and found that her one tube is blocked and not functioning. She hasn't had the f/u yet, but when she does I'm sure she'll get a plan from her RE. In the mean time, I was wondering who had this issue and how you achieved pg. IUI, IVF?

Re: Success with 1 blocked tube

  • ME!  We went with IVF because my other tube was open but potentially non-funtional (diagnosed through a lap).  It took a bunch of tries but the success is shown below.

  • While my HSG showed that technically both tubes were open, there was a lot of scarring around both of them, making them immobile and the right one was severely narrowed. they figured that at best, one was working, and probably not that well. As you already know we found success through IVF. Wishing your friend the very best!

  • Our 2nd IVF was successful!
  • I have one blocked tube. One pregnancy from IVF (ended inm/c) one from FET and one surprise. Dr says pregnancy dilates tubes and even a blocked tube could open enough after birth to get pregnant.

  • One of mine was blocked when I had my HSG.  I got pg with DS through IUI, and DD was a surprise!  Good luck to your friend :)
