I am totally overwhelmed with stroller options. We have the chicco cortina - and I bought it not knowing much but using the Baby Bargains book.....and it turned out not to be a great choice...it's heavy, only forward facing, the straps are a huge pain and Asha tries to climb out every time we use it and screams her head off....I thought a rear (parent) facing model might help so we tested some out today....and we couldn't discern anything...we tried the bugaboo bee, the uppa baby vista, the mamas and papas urbo and she seemed fine in all of them in the store....and then we tried the chicco cortina in the store and she didn't seem as happy but she was ok in it...we tried a few umbrella strollers as well and she seemed ok in those too....
I am making more mom friends and would like to go on walks around our area while the weather is holding out....but I can't take long walks with Asha if she can't do a stroller (I can do the ergo for awhile but not as long)....
so I've pared it down to a few choices:
the bugaboo bee: pricey but light, and it seems a bit tricky to fold, reverse the seat etc.
the mamas and papas urbo: I liked this one but haven't heard much about it...the sola is a slightly cheaper options but a little heavier and I didn't like the wheels as much
the uppa baby vista: pricey, heavier but she seemed to like it and she was seated up high which I liked too - plus it has the optional rumble seat and stand area for toddlers
bumbleride flyer: I've heard good things on here, it works with our infant seat (for a future baby) and love that the handle flips (but I heard it can break easily)...it's also more affordable
the first years indigo: super inexpensive and rated fairly well on amazon, but I haven't tried it out and don't know if anyone has it....
So i could get one of these....or I could just wait longer (using the cortina with limited success) and wait to get a lightweight or umbrella in the future....
I'm so confused. I want this stroller purchase to be IT....other than a super cheapy umbrella in the future should I need it....I don't have the room for multiple strollers nor do I want to spend the money...so what would you do if you were me?
i just don't want to make another multi-hundread dollar decision that I will regret....arghh....
Re: Overwhelmed by stroller options....ugh (long)
I don't have it, and don't really know what your "must-have" features are, but I have heard lots of good stuff about the BJ City Mini.
We have the Cortina, too, but we really like it.
Sorry I can't help more!

We have a Bugaboo Cameleon as our main stroller and I have been looking for a more lightweight option. I am between the Bugaboo Bee and the Baby Jogger City Mini.
I will say the Bugaboo products are wonderful- they turn on a dime. But I do love the City Mini- and you can't beat the one handed fold.
Check out the City Mini- you may find you really like it and it's much cheaper then the Bee. I'm still up in the air- my DH has so many issues folding the Cameleon- he really like the folding of the City Mini- so we will most likely end up with that.
There are tons of fun stroller toys on Amazon - you could drop 75.00 on them and still be hundreds ahead of the game and not out a penny if you do decide to get a different stroller because you will use them anyway.
Furthermore, before I'd go dropping a bucketload on a stroller, I would look into a stroller rental (they usually cater to travelers) in my area and see if they have them, rent each kind for a weekend and give it a test.
I've just seen people throw good money after bad with strollers when, in the end, the kid just doesn't like strollers.
Maybe its just me, but there is no way on earth that I'd drop that kind of cash for a stroller for a 1+ year old. I just don't think you'd get enough use out of it to make it worth it.
Why not get some sort of wagon or push car for walks? I'm betting she'd tolerate that better than any stroller.
I agree, skip the stroller, and go for a wagon, or one of those push trikes of cars.
I absolutely wouldn't drop cash on somethign read racing, as even if she likes to rear face now, I don't know of any 1 year old who doesn't want to see the world go by.
i also made the huge mistake of buying a chicco cortina. I hated it and genevieve hated it. So I just bought the britax b-agile and we both love it
She would cry almost immediately to get out of the cortina but the b-agile she will spend the day in no problem. Zoo tested and approved! i wouldnt look at it as a waste if you both like the stroller. sorry i dont have experience with any of those you mentioned.
