I have a travel camera backpack (padding for camera etc). But I don't know if I will be able to take that on our trip later this year since I have to really pack my bag with all of DS' stuff and it won't fit in the pouch on the camera bag.
I have a smaller camera bag that will fit the DSLR but I doubt it will go in the backpack I was planning on using to fit our carry on stuff.
How do you mamma's pack everything-I am definitely an overpacker and will need to keep things to a minimum this trip.
I will have an E-Reader plus one or two books for myself (it's a 16 hour flight and I'm scared my ereader will run out of batteries, a portable DVD player (most probably), my DSLR, and then DS food, diapers and toys. I guess I'll need an extra t shirt for myself as well.
We are taking the Ergo with us to wear in the airport/on the plane, a baby harness for the airport and a very cheap stroller (gate checked).
My mother is coming with me-I don't know if she normally takes a carry-on but she definitely will in this case but I cannot count on her having space for our stuff.
Re: Traveling with Toddler-DSLR/Carry On Bag Packing ?
That's an awesome tip!
Personally, we never check luggage - we even did a 1.5 week trip through Europe with just carry ons for DH and I and a purse for me. When DD flies with us, I usually split her stuff between my carry on and DH's, then we also bring backpacks and mine is filled with my stuff (I put my empty purse in my suitcase) - purse contents, DSLR (the only accessory I bring is my Lightscoop, and I just use my 50mm), and random snacks/toys for DD.
