Els had her first "food"

She was sitting on my lap and grabbed the pickle spear out of my hand and promptly stuck it in her mouth.  I assumed that she wouldn't like the tartness of the pickle, but I was wrong, she started sucking away on it.

After a few seconds I took it away, but it was still a little amusing none the less.

Cute!  Sounds like she's the adventurous type and ready to try more foods!

LOL!  My LO is still totally oblivious when I eat.  She watches me at times but doesn't try to grab what I am eating.

I was drinking a milkshake while holding Liv the other day, and she yanked the staw out and tried to shove it in her mouth. EVERYTHING goes in her mouth these days. Good lesson for mommy not to eat while holding her :)

We started sitting her in her high chair with toys on the tray while we eat to get her used to it.  She will stare at our forks and watch us eat.  If I'm holding her she tries to steal my food.

My pedi suggests pickles for teething - the dill and the cold is supposed to help with the pain. So I think that's just fine.

My mom wrote in my baby book, at 5 months, "She LOVES dill pickles."

I turned out great, so clearly love of pickles = good thing.

Thats adorable. This happened with me while i was holding my niece (before my own kids) I thought it was the cutest and most shocking thing. Then i was horrified realizing my sister's kid just ate a solid (cracker). I looked up quickly and asked my sister if that was ok. Luckily, she thought it was cute too!!!

I'm still waiting for my little Julianna to do this to me. When i eat she STARES at me. I imagine her saying, "Why aren't you sharing? Gimme some woman!"

LOL! Liam has started showing interest and grabbing at our food, too.

this, so far, has been the most comical:

What a priceless picture!!! DH and I both literally LOL'ed at this. To the point the kitty is hiding under the desk!

S stole a celery stick off of my plate at lunch today, and was utterly disgusted with it once it reached his mouth.
