So we need help with a name. We found out this week we are having a girl. We have always like Cody (not sure how we will do the spelling Cody, Codi, or Codee) as the first name and are pretty set on that. The problem is the middle name. We really like Cody Grace, but I have 2 problems with it. First, I feel like Grace is becoming such a common middle name. I feel like ever kid in the world is going to have the same middle name. Second, this will leave her with a very short name. Our last name starts with an M and is on syllable. Is this too short? Any other suggestions for the middle name? Thanks, ladies!

Re: Name Help
1 tip. if you are going to name your kid a boy/unisex name - always spell it the "right" way.
dd2 is sawyer grace, if it fits, it fits. middle names can be popular - who cares. just make sure its girly to offset the first name.
I think Codee might help give it a more girly feel, but I don't think there's a problem with Cody either.
Did a quick look on a names website for names that meant Grace (so it would have the same feel) and found a few I think sound okay:
Cody Annette
Cody Jasinna
Cody Linette (also Linnette, Lynette and Lynet)
Cody Rosanna
I think Cody Grace sounds nice together. I agree that the mn should be more feminine.
I'm not a fan of the Codee spelling. I can see how it could be used and shortened to Dee sometimes but it looks odd to me.
First, if you insist on giving your daughter a boy's name, spell it correctly. Cody is the only acceptable spelling, IMO.
Second, give her a super feminine middle name that will 1) let people know she's a girl and 2) give her something to fall back on if she ends up hating her name as she gets older.
love is for every her, love is for every him, love is for everyone
I agree with all of this and I agree with you on the Grace thing, it's becoming popular as a middle name. I'd think with a unique FN, I'd go with a more unique or different MN and not just default to Grace (which I LOVE BTW so no judgement to those who will or have used it in some way). I think ChoicesMom had some cute ideas!
