Stopping in real quick. DD broke my laptop Monday, it fell on the floor and is now a flashy split screen. I can't read anything on it, but can kind of tell icons. So at least I was able to get on and save over all my pictures from the last couple yrs on a flash drive along with our financial spread sheet. I would have been sooo upset and looking for computer fixers if I had lost those pictures!
Tues we left for PA and went to the crayola factory one day, sesame place another day, and looked at bridesmaid and wedding dresses with my roomate from college another day. Fun vaca! Downside - dd no longer sleeps in the car. Even after sesame she was only out about 20 minutes. Makes for a really long 5 hr drive. We even tried to switch her seat ff half way down on the ride there, which was cute when she would raise her hands and squeel going down hills, but certainly didn't stop the crying later on. In fact, personally I thought it was worse bc she kept trying to bring her feet up, but then they would fall down and hang.
My car is on it's way out. It keeps having electrical issues and is not worth it to us to put the money into fixing it. We want to upgrade to a SUV/Crossover anyway before we become a family of 4, and bc of yesterday will probably be doing it sooner than later. Luckily dh got it running again, but i don't want to be trapped somewhere so there is no point in waiting another 4 months. Anyone heard good/bad things about the Traverse, Edge, or Murano? Those are the 3 dh is looking in to. Vehicles are not my thing, so the most I am doing as far as picking is going with him to make sure I can drive whatever he decides on without crashing.
So busy week...... Vaca, now we have overnight guests coming over later today (which DH only told me about as we were leaving for vaca, I could kill him), and then dd's bday party sunday! Definitely bit off more than I should have this week. With the lack of consistent sleep, dd was very clingy and wanted me holding her a lot in PA. Which has been making my stomach feel like it is cramping up, which never happened with the first pregnancy! Lots of packing, unpacking, cleaning, and making food. But it will definitely be a fun week overall! Probably a good thing my laptop is out of commission this week since I need that extra time. But I need to figure something out there too bc I want to get the vaca and bday pics up asap!
Oh....and I saw some cute new siggys! Love them. Any new news on Olivia? Also, who here uses that natural peanut butter - Readtome? I saw at the store it says to refrigerate....does it spread ok on bread?
Re: Hello!
Glad you had a great trip!! Sucks about the car and computer thing.... TBH... sometimes a break from technology (whether intentional or not)... can be refreshing.. although the potential to lose pictures and other important things is very stressful! Good thinking to save them to a thumb drive quickly before anything else happens. We actually have a removable hard drive (I think that's what it's called)... and we try to remember to back all of our important stuff up every few months. This way, if DH accidently steps on his computer (yep, that's happened) we won't lose too much.
Oh- as for the SUV thing... I own an Edge and I absolutely love it. It is very roomy, gets good gas mileage and we have had zero problems with it. It also handles really well in the ice/snow. It seems to be very low to the ground and has a really wide wheel basae, so it just kind of sticks right to the ground (as opposed to our Jeep, which I feel like is going to topple over when we make a turn in the snow). Ours is a 2007 and we bought it used about 2 years ago for a great price. I haven't been in/driven a newer one, but I would imgine they have only gotten better. I would highly recommend it!
Welcome back!!!

First, Glad your vacation went well!
Second, you need to find time to rest girl:) Take a few minutes for yourself.
Third, I use the wegmans natural pb and love it. I keep it in the refrigerator. Spreads fine on the bread. Took some getting used to but now everyone loves it.
I can't help you on the SUV. Sorry. DH is currently out spending large sums of cash on his new truck. He's very excited, buying vehicles makes me want to puke, too much money. FWIW my sister-in-law has the KIA Serrento with 4 kids and LOVES LOVES LOVES it.
DD is the same for car rides. We went down to Erie PA for the splash lagoon indoor water park there. She screamed for about 1 hour when we saw a walmart, stopped and bought a DVD player (something I said I'd never do) and bought one of her favorite DVD shows and presto, instant happiness. Singing instead of crying, Laurie Berkner, that lady is a Saint in my book! DD slept good, but ONLY when she was in bed with me. We are not co-sleepers so she slept good, I slept lousy. But then again I wasn't pregnant either:)
Again, Take care of yourself. Oh and if you have another monitor around you can plug it in to the back of your laptop so you can at least use it until you get it fixed. Kind of puts you in one spot but at least you can use the laptop.

.

Ya, DH has a desktop....I just have to use it when he is not around. But that is good to know, bc if I remember anything I need from my laptop, I can probably plug it in to his monitor then.
And ya, I hate buying vehicles. I hate buying anything, but especially something that expensive. I am trying to talk dh into at least looking at some newer used models....but the car I have now he bought in '06 right before we got married and was only a year old and has had electrical issues and something with the brakes or rotors or something like that I have heard him complain about for yrs. So I know he wants to get new.
Great to hear you like your Edge! I think that is the one he is leaning towards. I don;t know, he has been wanting this for the last yr, but we are still paying on his truck so I have been trying to delay moving up to 2 vehicle loans. He was talking to some guy about the traverse and I guess it is made on the same platform as the acadia and something else that has a tendancy of computer issues. We have GM bucks that could go towards it, which makes it tempting, but because of that he is hesitant.
The dvd in the car I am torn on....we won't have another long car ride until May for my friend's wedding. But I just feel once we get one, it will be too easy to start using it on medium rides. And then all the time. Plus, she is 2, but even if we wait until she is 3 that means that baby 2 is only 1. DH has wanted one for her forever. He will definitely use it all the time he has her in the car once we get one. I'm sure it is inevitable eventually, and I know 100% she would be such a better traveller bc now she does like a few shows. Who know, dh will probably end up picking out a vehicle with them in the headrest and then it won't even be a fight anymore.
Glad you had a good vaca! Being able to see good friends during it is always a plus. I know what you're talking about with the car. DH basically drove his car into the ground, and we were getting to the point where we were putting a couple months worth of payments into it each time he took it in, so about a month ago we got something newer. Don't have personal experience with any of the SUVs you named, but I have been drooling over the Traverse for a while. If I have another baby, I will go for that, but if we're one and done with Ian, we'll most likely get an Equinox or Honda CRV.
Hope the rest of your week goes well, and you have a great time with E's birthday party! Rest as much as you can, and drink lots of water. Have fun!
