I have heard of using a scarf in the same fashion as a ring sling and I tried to figure it out today with no luck. I have never used a ring sling before so I am not sure how to adapt this idea at all. Has anyone tried this?
DH and I are taking LO to Disneyland for a few days and I need something light since it is super warm here in CA right now. I have a Moby that I use fairly often at home but it is just too darn hot to use outside. I want to be able to use it for BFing and carrying while DS is awake.
DS is 11 pounds if that helps.
TIA
Re: XP from Attachement Parenting: Scarf in lieu of ring sling?
Ditto the safety factor. I wouldn't. A good baby carrier is an investment, and it costs a few bucks because it needs to be safe.
There's a baby carriers section in diaperswappers if you want to save some cash:

A mei tai is going to be much easier to figure out how to use, and easier to wear for longer periods IMO. If you want a ring sling, though, learn how to hold the baby in an upright position:
