allergic reactions worsened?

I'm allergic to cats and went with DH over my BFFs house to weather out this hurricane.  Within about an hour I was sneezing my head off and usually I'm much better over there, even though they have two cats.  We had to leave and sleep at my parents' house across town.  I didn't sleep all night and my ears and nose are still clogged.  :(

My question is, now that you're pregnant have you noticed that things you're allergic to have been making your symptoms much worse?

    My general allergies are pretty bad, I've noticed. I take claritin everyday to cut down on the sniffles, but I still end up with a plugged up nose throughout the day. I haven't tried going to my friend's house who has cats (I'm allergic to those, too) because I don't think I'll survive. I think it's something about our immune systems  being low...

    Don't forget about pregnancy nose! Mucous membranes get swollen during pregnancy so we are more prone to a congested nose!

    BFP #1 6-8-11 EDD 2-19-12. DD born 2-3-12 via induction due to pre-e.
    BFP #2 9-7-13 EDD 5-22-14. It's a GIRL! DD#2 is on her way.

    I've heard this, too! I'm sure that's half of my problem as well!

    Oh yes, I get allergy shots and usually don't have to take any other medications but ever since I've been pregnant I have had to supplement with Claritin, it's been awful!

    Yep, it's been awful. There have been many nights where I haven't slept but a few hours cuz I'm up sneezing and blowing my nose so much!

    During both my pregnancies, I've had allergies and I don't suffer from them at all otherwise.  This was actually one of my first signs that made me think I might be pregnant...weird.
