I spent the night at my mom's house because DH was going to be out late and I don't like staying home alone. She was telling me about an OWT that she and her sister did before having kids that turned out true for both of them so we did it just for fun. We put a needle on a string of thread and held it still over my open palm. If the needle swings in a circle it means girl and if in a line it means boy. For more than one kid, it will swing in one way, then stop, then swing again to see each kid. We did it several times on my mom, myself and even DD (who is 2 LOL) and got the same answer every time! My mom showed 3 girls (she stopped at 2 kids - but had only girls). Mine showed girl first and then boy (DD#1 was girl - don't know DC#2 yet) and it showedy DD would have 2 boys and then a girl. It was a lot of fun and I guess we will have to wait a few more weeks to find out for sure!!
Re: XP OWT: Needle on a String
My MIL swears up and down that this is the most sure way to tell the sex, haha. It has shown right for her three kids, my SIL, and everyone else in their family. We haven't tried it yet on myself though.
Edit: I just decided to try it cus I had needle and thread next to me, and it's crazy how it went from still to moving in circles so quickly! I braced my arm so it was steady and not moving, and it still kept going in circles everytime I tried to stop it.
Our a/s was at a place that is not allowed to tell you the sex, but they did let me look at the crotch and there was the classic '3 lines' and the tech said 'yes, looks like 3 lines' so I've been thinking it's about 90% it's a girl.
Do you know how this works if you have multiple children? Do you use the youngest child's hairline?
