Has anyone used the PnP bassinet once your LO passed the weight limits?

After reading a post in 3-6 about PnPs, I looked and the weight limit on our PnP's basinet is only 15lbs.  Charlotte will outgrow that in under 4lbs, so probably another 2-3 months.  I know I should be moving her to her crib but I have no desire to.  I've told myself I will when she starts STTN, but have no idea when that will happen.  I don't want to do anything that will be unsafe, but if she's not STTN, I want to keep her with me.  I need to know if I should be looking into other options just to be ready in case she's not.

Yep, I'm bored at work, and this is what my mind is doing.  Forgive me:)

  • The weight limit on the bassinet of our PnP is 15 pounds as well.  We only use the PnP when we visit family out of town, and we've used one without a bassinet attachment before without any issues.  The weight limit on the actual PnP should be about 25 pounds; she could continue sleeping in there if you wanted to keep her in your room?

  • also, my daughter outgrew the napper by length already so we tried just putting her on the pnp mattress.. yeah it was not comfortable enough for our diva.. sooo we took the napper and have it laying down on top of the pnp mattress.. and it keeps her snug still so it doesnt feel so big

this was the case for my DD at first, but my cousin suggested laying a blanket (or two or three) on the "mattress". lol I just took our fluffiest blanket and tucked it in on all sides, and it's worked like a charm ever since! hope that helps :)

  • We are going to use the bassinet part until she is to big then we will move her to the crib.  Right now it sits beside our bed so if her plug falls out I can put it back without getting up, once she is out of the bassinet I will have to get up anyway so we are going to transition.  We will still take the pnp for trips though til she out grows it completely.

  • Thanks for the post! I had no idea the bassinet weight limit was only 15lbs. LO sleeps in her crib. But I put her in the PnP bassinet for play time so I can get things done around the house. LO is over 15lbs so I guess it is time to take the bassinet out.
