HOw much was LO speaking at 15 months? DD is almost 15months and not saying anything consistently. Most of her other friends are speaking either so I feel like I shouldn't be overly concerned. But we do have EI evaluation set up for September. I am worried that she should be saying more by now - but I know every kid is different too.
Re: s/o speech...
At 15 months, DD2 had exactly one word: "gook," meaning "look!" Not even mama or dadda. My DD1, who is on the autism spectrum, had more words at the same age.
We had DD1 evaluated, and the week of the eval, she picked up a couple more words. Even with that, she was at a 13-month level -- a slight delay, but not enough to warrant speech therapy. No other issues whatsoever, she was even a little ahead on social/cognitive indicators.
Her speech exploded not long after. I bet she easily has 30 words now, at 17 months -- although she still isn't saying mama consistently; she will say "da" for dadda.
It's hard not to worry, but the odds are good that your DD is just taking her time. Even if she does have a delay, you're on top of things and taking the right steps. That's the most important part.
