WWYD? re: baby vs. Irene

The current plan in place is for us to call DH's parents as soon as I go into labor, then drop DD1 off at a friend's while we head to the hospital. Once they get down here, they will take her back to our place and stay with her until we come home. They live in CT and would be driving down via 95, which will be definitely impacted by the hurricane. 

Does it make sense to ask them to drive down early AM tomorrow? It doesn't sound like we'll start getting rain until tomorrow afternoon, so they could still make it. But if I don't go into labor, they're basically going to head back home and then we'd have the baby within the next 2 weeks, so they'd have to come right back. We'd also have to bring the dog to the dogsitter while they're here.

It feels like such a gamble. At my last appt on Tues, I was 1cm dialated and soft and the MW could feel the baby's head. My gut is telling me I'll make it through the weekend, but I have been having some cramping in the last day or so. I know they'd be totally willing to come down, but it seems crazy to have them come down, then go back up then come right back down. Thoughts?

    That's tough...but I probably wouldn't have them come, as long as the friend would be willing to keep DD1 for a bit extra if it does happen in the next few days.  I imagine by Monday or Tuesday they would be able to come down after the storm goes through.  Hard call though!  Hope you make it fine through the weekend and its a moot point!
