Discharge/Leaking Update

I think we're getting to that stage in our pregnancy where we're paranoid about the amount of moisture in our undies!  Among other things!

You might remember I went to the bathroom the other day and thought I saw mucus in the toilet and then my underwear got VERY wet.  Well my OB rushed to see me and said my plug is still where it should be and everything feels correct in there (had an internal exam - ouch).  Her explanation is that a hormone shift or surge (normal) can cause a rush of mucus, both wet or creamy.  Mine just happened to be more wet than I was used to.  She assured me little one was ok!  She is running a test for BV to see if that might have caused more mucus than I'm used to.

Some things she pointed out for calming myself down in the future is if it's a true amniotic leak then if you bear down you should be able to push more fluid out.  She also said the leak/break is more of a rushing feeling and usually drips down your leg. 

I hope none of you go through the stress I went through... but all in all my son is ok! Big Smile
