Success after IF

***GuitaristsGirl***

I forgot to go back and check your swaddling post until now. Yes, I felt like the transition really helped. I started out with one arm for several days. The first night she fussed a bit, but then after that there were no problems. I was so excited that I jumped right to no arms, and that proved to be too much for Birdie. So, I switched back to one arm but did the other arm for a couple of days. Sometimes I alternated arms too. Then, I left both of her arms out but bound her around her belly with the swaddle (we use the Halo Sleep Sack) just to help her feel secure. After a couple of days of that, we removed the swaddling portion altogether, and she is doing great.

Perhaps we could have just muscled through a couple of rough nights and gone straight to unswaddling, but I'm a sissy and like my sleep. :)

  • Thanks for responding!  We actually just stuck with cold-turkey, although it sucked. . . I was starting to feel guilty about the constant change-ups, too  Embarrassed  Things seem to be getting better, so fingers . . .  I also like my sleep ;)
