Successful IVF? How many fertalized eggs?

My DH has poor morphology and we had three negative IUI's. We just had our egg retrieval for our first IVF cycle ysterday. The doctor called this morning to report that 11 of the 15 egss had fertalized. Is that good? He also said we will most likey do a day 5 transfer because Im 31, can anyone help me understand more?

That is very good! I had 8 eggs retrieved and 5 fertilized then we did a 5 day transfer. Good luck on your transfer!

That's a great fert rate! I would be very pleased if I were you!

we have only ever had two fertilized embryos, but we did limited fert on purpose. But it still worked twice for us! All you need is that one rockstar. Good luck!!!!

Sounds good to me! We retrieved 18 but only 5 fertilized normally and we Transferred the best 2 and were able to freeze one. Just remember, it only Takes one

That's a great number! On our successful cycle I had 12 retrieved, 9 mature, 5 fertilized. We put in 1 on day 6 and froze 2 also on day 6!

Sounds good to me!!!

Our first cycle we retrieved 10, 8 mature and fertilized. We transferred the only 2 we had on Day 5 and did not get pregnant.

Our second cycle we retrieved 8 of which 7 were mature and fertilized. We transferred two 8 cells on day 3 and froze 2 blasts on day 5 and we're pregnant with one.

This can vary widely. We had ten eggs from our cycle, seven were mature, five fertilized, and three got me pg (over two cycles). When the transfer happens is usually a function of how many embryos you have, as they don't want to risk not having any to transfer, and you sound like you probably have enough for some to make it to a 5dt. I had a 3dt for my fresh cycle because we didn't have much to work with. GL!

That's a great % ! I had 12 retrieved, 5 fertilized and did a 3dt of 2 embies. (with none making it to freeze)

That's a great fertilization rate! I think REs like to see at least a 50-60% fert rate, and you're well above that! With my own eggs I only had like a 17% fert rate. Good luck! 5 day transfers are thought to be better because at that point, the embryo is more developed. Wishing you lots of luck for a BFP!
