Tyler loves his sister!

This evening, Tyler and Bri were playing with some older neighborhood kids.  They were playing some silly pretend games when someone said that they should steal Brianna (pretend as part of their game).  Tyler stopped what he was doing, fell to the ground screaming and crying hysterically!  I ran over to see what was the matter, he said they were going to steal his Brianna!  He was SO upset at the thought that someone might take away his sister!  He really loves her!

    Yeah, we were able to explain it to him that it was a game.  The kids all felt really bad about it too.  He takes everything so literally.  Poor Tyler just has a really difficult time with his emotions, he doesn't want to flip like that in front of the other kids.  We (me, his teachers, his psychologist, his occupational therapist) have been working on the emotional control and it has gotten better but it is still so hard and further effects his socially.

    Aw that's sweet but too bad he got upset.  But it's good that he was playing well with the local kids, right?  I know it's got to be hard since he takes everything so literally, but it's great that you were able to explain it to him.
