There is a girl I 'know' from HS, and she has a 5 year old daughter. She had 2IF and got pregnant with clomid and TI. Her first was born at 32 weeks after a struggle with PTL. This time around, she started having issues at about 30 weeks, and is a teacher. Her posts have been all about how nuts the Dr. is if she thinks she is going on bedrest now... she has a school year to start. She whined and whined and her OB gave her the go ahead to come to the first week to get the kids/room going and train her sub, but straight home to bed after.
On Wed her post was about shopping for groceries after a 9 hour work day with a five year old who HAS to ride in the cart. "hope I don't go into labor tonight" lol..
Well, 2 days later, guess who is contracting every 4, and 2 cm?
So, I get that she did not cause herself to go into labor, and sometimes there is NO way to stop it, but really. stop posting about how active you are, and LOLing about going into labor. It may be a sensitive issue to me, and I know that bedrest is a hardship. I get it I do. I was on BR with all three, and had to go without some things, and had to scramble for help with my TWO little children last summer, but come on... At least try to look like you are taking it easy, and looking out for your baby.
Re: UGH Frustrated with a Friend on FB.... (Warning, long and judgy!)
That would annoy me too. There are women who do everything they can to keep their baby(ies) safe and cooking as long as possible and still end up having preemies so to see a person who knows first hand the potential risk and does things that (in my opinion anyway) are not critical, I find it irresponsible.
Certainly there are women on bedrest who are sahm's or simply can't afford to not go to work (we see this at our shelter often) but this does not seem to be the case here.
In any event, hope the baby stays put a little longer and is healthy and strong at arrival.
We really struggled financially with Gwen. It was so hard, and we had to ask for some help at times, but we did it.
She is going to have her water broken soon she said.... I know that I do not know everything about her individual situation, but from what she is putting out there, it is pretty frustrating.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I agree with you completely selfish of her. I was put on Bedrest on August 15th and DS was born September 18th. Is it fun no, I am sure I posted about hating not being able to go out of the house except for OB appts, ultrasounds and monitoring at the hospital this was twice a week. I couldnt cook, nothin and I ended up being induced due to preeclampsia at 36 weeks ending in a c-section after 4 days no progress.
My Sister in law acted the same way went into PTL with her oldest at 25 weeks they were able to stop it thank God and then ended up having him at 40 weeks suppose to be on BR but refused and was sent to the hospital to stop labor multiple times thank goodness it worked. Acted the same way with #2 ended up having her water break at 32 weeks and DS is okay on teh small side and slow developmentally, got PG with #3 was put on BR at 20 weeks refused to do it was in the hospital mutliple times again having them stop labor ended up have #3 at 36 weeks and she is okay also behind developmentally.
