Would you still rock a bikini? Awkward Belly Size..

TGIF Ladies!! So this weekend is an event for DH's work, and we will be at a waterpark on the lake. Typically I would be wearing a bikini, but considering my awkward beer-belly-looking bump, Im feeling like I might just look stupid. Opinions on still wearing a bikini when pregnant??

  • I think if you feel comfortable, go for it!  But I wouldn't.  We went to a pool party in June, and I already felt like my body was so weird, I got a new one piece suit.

  • I don't even own a one piece, but I don't know that I'd feel comfortable in my bikini.  You're a brave, brave woman!

  • As pp said, I think if you're comfortable with it, then go for it. Personally, I just feel too fat in general for a bikini, but you can bet I'm rocking this belly with a tight-fit maternity tee. :)
  • I'm tall, so finding a 1 piece isn't really in the cards.  I plan on wearing a bikini on our Cruise in October.  I don't have any qualms about it.

  • we went to Cancun while I was 12 weeks, I wore my bikini. Honestly I was more concerned with the massive size of my boobs than my stomach. WOW! noone I was with even noticed my belly had grown, but they ALL noticed my boobs. akward!

Go for it! As long as you feel comfortable, and bring a cute cover-up incase you start to feel that it was a bad idea!

Just remember your body looks different because of the sweet baby growing inside you!

  • I LOVED wearing a bikini when I was +26 weeks. I finally had a round belly and felt super cute. Everyone always gave me such nice compliments about my belly too! Right now though I just look like a chubster so there is no way. It's totally that chubby awkward stage.

  • I did two weeks ago when I was 13w6d!  We were at pool with a huge group of friends before a wedding and I rocked it...haha  Everyone whose opinion I actually cared about knew I was preggo, so if they saw a little extra fluff it didn't really matter to me Smile  My opinion is if you don't like what you see, don't look at it!

  • Rock on girlfriend!  If you've got it, and by it I mean a belly, flaunt it!  That's what I would do.  If it makes you uncomfortable, don't do it.  I know we're not in
Europe or South America but there you'll see all sorts of body types in bikinis and speedos.  As outsiders we probably don't like it as much... but it's what's on the inside that counts.  AND YOU'VE GOT A BABY INSIDE!!!  :-)  Yay! Paradise

  • I'm in the same boat- except my decision is for a few weeks from now- it'll totally depend on how I look and my thought is to pack at 1 1-piece and my 'bikinis' with a ton of cover ups.  I think my two piece suits will be more comfortable and the cover-ups will help for romping around.

I haven't gotten used to the belly and I'm not ready just yet so I'd just try stuff one and see what you feel best in.  Have fun~

Today I am pregnant & I love my baby!
  • If I had a rockin body, I'd totally do it.

  • I would. We went to a waterpark a few weeks ago and I wore a 2 pc. But I had a cute wrap around me, so it wasnt too noticable that I was getting a bump. But I did get a few compliments on my little bump (that at the time just looked like bloating to me..but I guess it looked like a bump to others).

If you're not comfortable wearing one, then I wouldnt even try it because you'll feel icky and awkward the whole time and it might ruin your time there.

I didn't mind my chubbier belly either. My boobs on the other hand....just looked out of control. I was so worried I'd pop out of my top! Time for a "mom suit" till they go back down or I get a reduction!

  • If you feel comfortable, do it! I live in the California desert and one of the only things to do is go to the pool. I've been wearing a bikini since I've been pregnant. I know that I probably look like I have a beer gut to some people, but I guess I don't care that much. I had to kind of get over it and mentally prepare myself to wear a bikini for 5 days in Hawaii in September. So yeah, not really concerned about what other people think!

  • I wear one to the beach. But if it were related to DHs job, I'd prefer to cover it right now because I look fluffy, and I know everyone well. I have a tankini that has a little space in the belly. It looks good on me with my expansion.

My belly also looks like a beer belly or like I just ate a lot of food. And we are going to the beach for a week and I'm not ashamed to show what little, awkward bump I have in a bikini--hopefully I will have this same mindseet after I see the vacation picts :)
  • My pre pregnancy boobs where *just* small enough to fit in a bikini (size large, with minimal spillage).  Now they are HUGE and wearing a bikini top might cause me to get arrested for indecent exposure.

It's all about what you're comfortable in--I knew I'd be too self-conscious with a bikini, so I bought a few maternity tankinis for our September babymoon.
