Babies: 6 - 9 Months

any LO's just no longer interested in milk/formula?

DS is totally not interested anymore...he'll drink a little, but generally not a normal bottle anymore.  he still eats his baby food great - so i know he must still be hungry.  (we give bottle and food separately - at least an hour apart - so he's not just picking one over the other a meal time.)

he's almost 9 months, is on formula, still eats mainly purees, cereal, & puffs.  anyone else have a LO like this?  i worry because aren't these babes supposed to get their nutrition from their formula until 1 year?!

any tips welcome!

  • I have this same issue.  I have just given up on her finishing a bottle in 1 sitting like she used too.  It can sometimes take up to an hour for her to finish 7 oz.  She drinks, then plays, then drinks in a continuess cycle until the bottle is gone.

  • Yes, same here, and it was making me a basket case.  I called the dr and he said to try to get at least 16 oz in.  We just barely make it every day.  I've been trying to sneak formula into DS's foods - in his cereals or mixed with chunkier foods, etc.  I figure every little bit helps.  And I offer his bottle after he eats solids as a beverage.  That seems to help.
