ok, so were these Braxton Hicks ya think?

So earlier today I had this pain at the top of my uterus...couldn't figure out what it was, thought maybe gas...then it stopped. Then it came back for like 20 seconds and went away. Lay on my bed for a while, all is fine, then I get this pain again. It felt like cramping or pulling but only at the top of my uterus really...

Last time it happened was 3 hours ago, but do you think this was Braxton Hicks? I didn't want to call the doctor and be an alarmist, so I figured i'd wait it out, and it went away so I wasn't worried...

    My whole belly tightens up & I don't have any cramping w/ mine.

    The easiest way I can describe it is that my stomach goes from soft to hard as a rock & then back soft.

    Maybe.  My stomach got really hard when I had one.  It felt weird, and I was sitting down on the couch and just had to stop talking and see what was happening.  It didn't hurt or cramp, just got tight all over and then went away.

    Mine gets hard from bottom up for a few seconds. If your belly is soft then hard and soft again I would say yes, it's Braxton hicks. I don't get cramping though.

    Definitely possible. I have had them much more recently, and where they don't hurt, they aren't necessarily comfortable. Not sure what I would consider "crampy" but depending, I think I could say yes, a little crampy.

    If you had pain...  I am not sure it was BH.    BH are uncomfortable with your whole belly or part of your belly tightening up, but not painful.    My guess, is if it doesn't keep happening, that it was gas and/or the baby moving in an awkward place.

     I agree with this.  I've had some yuck gas pains at the top of my ute.  But BHs have been tightening all over as others have described.

    Mine are also just uncomfortable tightening.  I was told if they are accompanied by pain I needed to call.

    Diagnosed PCOS 2/07, TTC #1 since 8/09
    11/10 - Clomid Round 1 = BFN
    12/10 - Clomid Round 2 = BFN
    1/11 - Voluntary Break = BFN (duh)
    2/11 - Clomid Round 3 = BFN
    3/11 - Femara + IUI = BFP * Beta#1=56 * Beta#2=266

    The one time I think I've had one is when my whole stomach got super super hard.  Like as hard as my forehead.  I would wait and see if it happens again and then call to see, but could it also be ligament pain?
