Do your parents know about your IF? Mine do. My DD is 3 month old and my parents are already asking when we are gonna try for another like it's no thang. Oy!
Yes, we are very open about our IF. My dad said we did such a good job with DS that he would find a way to pay for another round of IVF so we could have another one soon. He was mostly joking about paying for a round of IVF, but it was pretty cute. He is so in love with his newest grandson and it's beyond cute.
TTC since 8/2004
Me - DX Hashimoto's Disease, Hypothyroid, Rheumatoid Arthritis
DH - DX Azoospermia - Sertoli Cell Syndrome
DS-IUI #1-4 BFN
IVF #1 - BFP! It's a boy!!!
Both of our moms know. Mil is much more supportive and helpful about it than my mom. She offers to keep G overnight when I had my er and et. My mom didn't even wish me luck when I told her I was in the middle of a cycle. She's not opposed to it or anything she is just not a thoughtful/ supportive mom.

We are open with everyone, even strangers if it comes up in the convo. My parents were very unsupportive the first 3 years because they were in denial. So anytime we tried a procedure or treatment they would say it was "unnecessary" and we needed to give it more time (we had secondary IF as our first DD only took 5mths to conceive). Finally they came around and accepted DH and I have medical issues that require treatment.
They are very blessed to have our newest DD but I don't think they want me to have anymore kids. I am their only child so any little thing we do (during IVF and pregnancy) freaks them out. My mom is the worst - I had hypertension and diet controlled GD with both my pregnancies and after this last one she said no more kids for me. Um, yeah like that's your decision lol.
Yep though my mine didn't until after we were pregnant with G. IL's knew because MIL is an IVF nurse and she was really helpful with referrals and questions.
"Normal day, let me be aware of the treasured day you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart...let me hold you while I may."
Yep! And I was surprised at how not helpful my mom was sometimes, given that they personally tried for 5 years before finally adopting my oldest brother...and then they became one of "those" stories by almost immediately getting pregnant with two more kids...and then again with me 12 years later. I guess she forgot the anguish of IF?
Yes, all of our immediate family knows. But not extended family. and our closest friends all know - but not, say, the FB universe. There are certain people we share it with and certain people we definitely do not share it with.
Brought to you by IVF, ICSI, limited fert, and oocyte cryopreservation. Because we're fancy like that.
My mom drove me home after the transfer that is now Dylan.
Then watched me cry for almost 5 straight days on bed rest.
Yup... she knows.
She knows about the losses too.
And she still says the most insensitive things. FREQUENTLY.
Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
Yes, they've both known every step of the way. It was a very emotional couple years for us and I couldn't imagine not having their support through it all.
