How did it work out? I just bought some lovely corn on the cob from the farmer's market, and I'm trying to decide whether I need to cut it off the cob. She has 12 teeth and bites pretty well.
D loves it! He does get pretty lazy with it after a few bites and then I cut some off the cob for him, but for the first few minutes he goes to town on that thing.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

yep! I thought my mom was crazy when she wanted to give him some when he was like 10 months old...but we cooled it, cut it in half so that he had an appropriately sized cob and he had a blast gnawing away! can't say that he got a lot of the corn off, but he had so much fun and I got to peacefully eat for quite a while!
Yep! I cut it down to toddler size, let it cool and she went to town. We just started giving it to her recently.

I give her half an ear at a time. I had to show her how to bite it the first couple of times (she wanted to gnaw on the ends), but now she gets it and can clean off half an ear in a few minutes.
I have a hilarious video of her eating it, but DH lost the camera - ugh!

I'm from Iowa, the capital of corn so our girls started eating it before age 1. Have a camera handy. I think kids eating corn on the cob is absolutely precious. Around here, it's almost as obligatory of a picture as the watermelon eating pic. lol

My daughter started eating it off the cob around 2 years old. She loves it! The only thing is she gets really annoyed when it gets stuck between her teeth (I do too but I understand how to get it out better than she does!).
Jude started eating it off the cob shortly after his first birthday actually! He was upset when he saw his corn cut up on his plate and everyone else eating it off the cob so we let him try it and he loves it!

Graeme just picked it up and chomped away...loves it!

wow I'm impressed with all the little ones eating Corn on the Cob. Clearly I'm behind the times since it never even occurred to me to give it to Nicholas. Maybe I'll do that this week. Not sure how he'll do since he doesn't really like corn. Actually, let me rephrase that. He's never HAD corn since he always hands to back to me when I give him a few kernels.

I used to cut it off the cob for the twins, but they've been having it on the cob for about a month now (so, since about 15 months). They LOVE it and totally go to town. I cut a cob in half and give them each a piece.

Yep! And he loves to eat it off the cob!
I don't remember how old he was when we first gave it to him, but maybe 20 months?
DD loves it!

DS loves to eat it right off the cob. I thought it was so funny watching him eat it for the first time so you might want to have a camera handy.

I let ds gum a small piece last summer. He didn't do all that much w/ it other than drool all over it. He was 8 or 9 months old.
Last wk we gave him 2 small toddler pieces (smaller than a half a cob) and he LOVED it! He picked both pieces clean!
