      Yes  lmao!
  • We should be expecting something - though the reports seems a bit all over the place right now - but saturday into sunday.  We plan on preparing everything (yard stuff, supplies etc) tomorrow and staying put - unless of course the forecast changes dramatically.  I'm on Long Island, NY.

  • We got some of it today..It wasn't much though, some rain, lots of wind. But nothing like they were saying. The Bahamas didn't make out as well..

I hope everyone in the Outerbanks, Jersey Shore, Cape Cod ect listens to the warnings and evacuates. You don't really want to mess with a hurricane..

Hope everyone is safe and sound this weekend

  • Me!

But there's really no way to know what will happen after it hits the coast -- we have to prepare in case in comes straight through which happens often enough, but often we'll just get rain without much wind or flooding.

  • We're getting her here in DE.  I'm pretty inland so it should just be flooding and maybe power loss.  People are going nuts over water and batteries at the area stores.
  • I'm in north Jersey, near NYC.  It's not looking great for us.

Parts of the Jersey shore have already had mandatory evacuation orders put up and the rest probably will tomorrow.  NJ could get hit really hard.

  • Me : ( We are right outside Philly and it looks pretty bad. News just said 5-10 inches of rain iwth 70mph wind.  I am sure that my basement is going to flood and I am guessing we will lose power.  We were suppose to head to the shore this weekend...so much for that

  • I'm on the north shore of MA, it depends I guess which way the wind blows at this point.

I'm in Central, NJ not that far from Sandy Hook.  If it's bad we might be in trouble.  I don't think really dangerous but damage we cannot afford.  I might leave with the baby if it looks really bad but my husband will stay.  So far no evacuations and I don't expect them.

  • Just outside of DC in Maryland.  DH is heading to Vegas (for his fantasy football draft) and I'm heading to Baltimore to hang with my parents.  I don't think that the hurricane is going to change our plans at all.  :)

  • I'm in NC, but far inland enough that I'm not actually going to be Irene'd (hehehe). Prepared for lots of rain, wind, power outages...but nothing like the coast is going to have. :(

  • I am in NC...near the coast.  Like Cara, my DH is deployed right now and this is our first real hurricane.  I am not counting Earl last year...he was a dud.  I am staying locally with friends so that I am not alone.  Hoping that it passes right by us.

  • I'm in the north bronx. Sounds like we may get hit pretty bad, but that can all change. Dh prepared our back yard and is getting all the must haves later from the store.

Thank you GEN!  ALY and I must live right near each other.  If it's going to be bad I'm going to take Daniel to my brother's house in Brooklyn.  They'll get the storm too but they're not in an evacuation zone.  My DH is going to stay and try keep the water out unless they evacuate. I'm hoping it's not bad but a tornado touched down right outside our apt in Brooklyn a few years ago so I never say never with Mother Nature.  The thought of leaving him is killing me but I know it's better to get Daniel out since we can't just cut and run with him.
