greeting card wording to support IFer

My dh?s second cousin is facing IF for a few years now and I understand they are on their last FET. She was so kind enough to see my LO with her family and buy him lovely gifts and opened up to us during that visit...not too much in detail though, which was fine by me! 

 

 She and her dh were asking us about adoption and that may be their next option, that is if she?s not PG now. I don?t know!   I want to let her know that I?m thinking of her. What message would you say in the greeting card?

After 7 years of marriage and 5 unsuccessful IVFs, we have been granted the gift of adopting a baby boy, born 4/21/11.

    Since it sounds like you aren't overly close with this person, I would probably just keep it simple and say something like "just wanted you to know I am thinking of you and am here for you if you ever want to talk".  I had one of DH's friends and wife going through secondary IF and I felt like there was a fine line between support and noseyness (sp?) so I always tried to keep it simple.

    I actually bought a greeting card at I believe Hallmark for IF for my cousin.  It was very simple, something like I wish I could make things happen for you the way you want, I will hope and pray for you and hear to listen too....obviously not what it said, but something along those lines. HTH

    In a friends card to go with a "I'm having a bad day" basket was something like this:

    We can't help you produce fabulous sturdy eggs

    We can't provide a map for DH sperm to reach your eggs

    We can't answer your "Why us?" questions

    We can't fill the hole in your heart or take away your tears

    We can be on the end of phone when you just need to vent

    We can give you daily reasons to laugh

    We can have faith for you when you've given up

    We can remind you that you are only as alone as you want to be!
