Success after IF

Thanks so much. . . and I DD'd

I hope no one minds!

I'm so thankful for the (mostlyWink) kind, thoughtful, and insightful responses to my SAHM post.

I'm not entirely sure why I felt the need to DD. . . I think it's just that I have a lot to think about and, rather than having to keep checking back for more responses (darn the lack of email notifications!), I just kind of wanted to close the door on that particular post and  just sit with my thoughts now. . . I don't know if that makes any sense or not!

Anyway, thank you again, and if for some reason you were wanting to comment but were unable, please feel free to PM me.  I'm always open to thoughts and ideas. . . I just wanted to "close" that post for now.

(Also, deleting removes any possibility that it could be used to start drama.  Thanks to those who kept it drama free!)

  • Oh shoot, I saw your question but didn't finish reading it before I left home earlier, and I just got home and missed the whole thing.  I wish I could have read it and the responses -- it sounded like a fascinating question that had great potential for insight for many of us!  If anyone cares to repeat or somewhat summarize the responses, I'd love to see them! ;)

  • Aw, I'm sorry! I was just so nervous about posting at all that, even though it was going well, I didn't want to risk pushing it and then be responsible for stiring things up! That's selfish I know. I'm sorry... Just chicken, I guess ;)
  • I'm bummed you DD'd, I was enjoying reading the responses. Did someone say anything negative? I felt like all the responses I read were thoughtful and understanding, but I must have missed something.

  • I must have missed the negativity....I hope nothing I said was construed as negative (I'm always paranoid about writing things b/c I know how it can interpreted differently than intended).  Always happy to discuss more though.  It's a tough decision -- I can relate!

I'm nervous about that too now.

Me too! A lot of you ladies had some great suggestions about things I could/should be doing with Jake when we are out running errands. Loved the one about counting mailboxes, and naming colors, letters, talking about stuff like who the mailman is and his job. I

Hope you felt like you got what you wanted from the responses.

  • Well nuts! I definitely didn't mean to upset anyone! Like I said, I really did appreciate the responses and took them all to heart! The board usually seems slow at night so I (obviously wrongly) assumed that most who would respond already did, and it made me anxious leaving it out there - not just from a drama perspective, but from a - lots of good thoughts and information and my brain's on overload and I need to step back and think! - perspective. Since most if not all responders were like minded, I also didn't appreciate that others would be going back to read it. I'm really sorry that it seems that was a bad call on my part.
  • I'm glad you got the answers you needed to help you think through things! FWIW, as a full time (practically) working mom with no intent or desire to ever be a SAHM, I read through many responses earlier via my phone and I thought they were all very balanced and fair, not offensive at all from the point of view of a working out of the home mom - and I'm SUPER sensitive as I've learned from the recent food wars and BFing posts - so Ali/LVBlvd, no worries there!

This for me too. I get judged and criticized a lot for working and I am sensitive and I didn't see anything offending.

  • Thx Schmoodle & Auburn!  That makes me feel better.  It's such a touchy subject (and I've been on both sides so I can relate) that I'd hate to offend when that wasn't my intention at all.

Just in case I wasn't clear, I completely agree with this too. Love and appreciate all you ladies, no hard feeling please! I obviously made a mistake :(
  • Good to hear that.  I know everyone does the best they can/what is right for their family and that was what I was trying to get across!

I'm just wondering if someone later had a negative response?  If someone got offended?

No, my OP above was honest. I got overwhelmed, but it was by all the helpful responses and food for thought, not by anything negative. I really hate that I made you question that. Like I said, I was obviously - but very unintentionally!- selfish in deleting and I apologize for that.

Please don't worry - it wasn't selfish.  It's just when there is a touchy subject, I always want to make sure I didn't inadvertently say something offensive.
