MUD

So i just wanted to clarify a few things about my pregnancy because I've gotten some negativity over wether or not I'm being truthful. Out of all people, and with having a previous child, I neverin my wildest dreams suspected that I could go 19 weeks without detecting a pregnancy. With my son,I knew before I even missed my period. I was very in tune with my body.

However this time could not be more different. Like I have previously posted, I haven't gotten a period since DS was born. And we were not TTC like crazy, just informally doing what we normallywould do without any form of BC. I have tested a few times in the past only to come up with BFN, sofor a while I have not been expecting or even thinking about pregnancy. Believe me, I can't standthose women on I didn't know I was pregnant. I always thought to myself, how could you be so daft? When I felt kicking a few weeks ago, I was almost in denial. I chalked it up to gas or maybe itwas just in my head. I couldn't believe it when I went to the OB and I was measuring that far along. It blew my mind. But nevertheless, DH and I are excited and since we haven't had a chance to formallytell our families and friends yet, I was using these boards because I just had to talk about it to someone.Sooo many of you ladies have been so gracious and supportive, thank you. I just wanted to get this out therebecause I realize how my story sounds... Almost made up and ridiculous. I feel a little embarrassed about itmyself, how could this happen? I'm also terrified of the fact that I haven't had prenatal carefor nearly 5 months. But I can't change this... I have to move on and do the best I can inThe situation.

I'm completely new to these boards and I realize there is etiquette I may notfully understand. But I'm a college graduate ; I think I can pick it up. So Far I have learned that ppl don't like big glittery siggys, I do apologize... Lol. It wasn't meant to seriously offend anyone, and I didn't realize how large and obnoxious it really was. From now on I'll try to blend in a little better....The last thing I want is to be known for MUD.

Re: MUD

  • Crazy how one can find herself in a situation she never expected, huh?

That was a very classy explanation.  Thank you for being an adult and not going all whiney-pants just because some people didn't believe you!

This. Also, don't worry about getting a permanent MUD label just because you had one excited-but-not-thinking-it-through post. You're new. We've all had time to let the excitement settle and rationale sink in a little bit. No worries. :)

A dream is a wish your heart makes when you're fast asleep. In dreams you will lose your heartaches. Whatever you wish for you keep. Hold on to your dreams and someday your rainbow will come shining through. No matter how your heart is bleeding if you keep on believing the dream that you wish will come true. - Cinderella
  • I'm with you :)
Even though it was my first - I didn't find out until about 19 weeks along with my DD. (I was on a medication with irregular periods and had what I now know was "spotting" which I assumed was my period).

It seems crazy. But I think I just didn't realize it.

FWIW - DD is perfect and completely healthy :)

  • Ya...  My sis learned she was 14 or 16(i can't remember) weeks along, after never having AF visit after her second child.  They were 14 months apart.  Whoops.  LOL  She, too, is not dumb.  But she missed signs, having a 3yo and newborn, and then one day dry heaved for a dirty dipe and was like- Hm.  LOL;0)  Congrats!!!  Enjoy the ride!!  And lucky no AF for HOW long?  Nice;0)

  • I'll be your bump friend!  I didn't know I was pregnant with #1 until I was...11 weeks or so.  I was having really irregular periods for months before and had been POAS regularly, but I kept getting negatives, so I just figured I was stressed about moving and starting student teaching.  I finally took another test and it was positive...and then I was worried that I was soo late on getting to a doc and stuff and I couldn't even get seen for at least 3 weeks.

This one was the opposite...I knew before I missed one period.

  • I totally believe not knowing you were pregnant- it happens. However the combo of the name Breezy with the glitter badge totally sounds like something trolls would so b/c thy know crazy names (just sayin) and glitter badges make people snarky. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt b/c you didn't get all whiny on us. Just don't prove me right ;-)
  • Welcome and Congrats! I know two woman that this has happened to. One was young and pretty much in denial. The other is a close friend who found out she was 30 weeks along! To be fair to her, her husband had a vasectomy what turned out to be a few days before they conceived. Wink She had no symptoms either (lucky), and was doing P90X up until she found out. They have two daughters, so she knew what it was like to be pregnant, this one was just different. She ended up having a perfectly health baby boy on June 30. I'm sure your pregnancy will go just as well!

  • Welcome to the board and congrats on your unexpected little blessing!
  • I can definitely see how you could not know you were pregnant until you were further along, I didn't find out in this pregnancy until 8 weeks and could have gone a lot longer if I wasn't sick constantly. I looked back at your other posts and I didn't see anyone accusing you of MUD but your dates are off... you posted this morning that you were 18.5 weeks but your ticker says 19 weeks 5 days, and people may wonder how you know how far along you are if you haven't had a period and haven't yet had an ultrasound. I get why people might suspect it isn't true- plus there are so many MUD posts across The Bump all the time.

Good luck though and congrats on making it to the 2nd tri without any of the 1st trimester stress.
