or am I just in a bad mood?

I am cleaning out Simon's closet and came across some things a friend had let me borrow. I took a pic and emailed it to her saying "Hey, these are yours. Do you want them back? If not I'm giving a bunch of stuff to my sister in law. Let me know!"

She replied- "Those are mine and I want them back"

Um, yeah, I thought I had established already that they are indeed yours.

Maybe her email came off wrong, although it sounds very snippy! lol

She probably got an attitude and thought, WTH, she is trying to give away my stuff!

Which, there have been plenty of things i have given people and when they tried to give it back i said "Do you know anyone else who can use them?"

Which part? Rude that you never returned what you borrowed, rude that you wanted to give her stuff to your SIL, or rude that she said they were hers after you said they were hers?

I'm just busting you (a little). She was probably annoyed you wanted to give them to your SIL. I wouldn't sweat it.

WTH? Ok, so maybe I worded my email poorly. Because I wasn't at all trying to say I was planning to give her stuff to my SIL, just that if she didn't want it back I would pass it along. And WTH at you MrsLynnyD! Simon just recently outgrew them, how quickly am I supposed to return them?!

ok, I think we've established that I'm just in a bad mood. Time for a nap. lol!

If you borrowed them, I imagine she just assumed you would return them, not consider giving them to someone else. She probably just wanted to make it clear that would not be okay with her. If it were me, I'd be confused as to why you'd want to give my stuff to someone else.

I didn't even know what we were talking about. Could have been a size 2 pair of Z-Cavaracchi pants from the 90's for all I knew.

As for getting hand-me-down clothes for LO...I don't think they should get returned because how would you know who gave you what (unless this is established up front)? I got 2 boxes from someone and I was like "Will you want these back?" If she said yes, I would not have used them because I would have no idea which were her articles of clothing.

If it were baby gear or like a special outfit that would be different.

ETA: Although, now that I think about it...it was Simon's closet and your SIL is pg. Now that just goes to show that I need a nap!!
