Hi All,
We are looking into moving back to Florida from New jersey in about a year and a half. We are specifically looking at Merritt Island and Melbourne. I would love to know if anyone lives in these areas and what they think. We have a two year old and are trying for a second. We are looking for a safe place with alot of young families, lots of fun activities, good schools, good food, good people and good music. Ive read alot about the area so I know statistcs but I would love to hear first hand from someone who lives there. Also are most people transplants or original to area? I hope to hear from someone!
Re: Brevard County, Looking to moving here!
Like above, the Viera/Melbourne area is probably the safest and most family friendly...and there's plenty of the typical chain restaurants and big box stores in that area. Merritt Island is relatively safe, but it depends on what neighborhoods you're living in. The neighborhoods seem to go from nice to sketchy in a matter of streets! Also, driving up and down Courtenay can be a total nightmare sometimes, and it's pretty much the only way to get around MI.
But no matter where you live in Brevard, you'll find plenty of good places to eat, and there's always stuff to do if you love being outside!
Good luck!
