Tires are expensive!

I took my car in for a tire rotation and apparently I need not two but FOUR new ones!  This is almost $600.  Good-bye savings account.  Maybe LJF has some extra CS lying around and will give me a loan?

    My car will need new tires this fall/winter too. I'm not looking forward to that bill. Last time it was around $600 also.

    oh man.. that last sentence made me laugh. Are you sure you need new tires or are the hustling you because you are a young good lookin' woman? Some places are scammers! Second opinions cant hurt :)

    I heard that prices have almost doubled.  I can't remember what it was last time I bought new ones but I'm pretty sure that I only had to buy two at that point.  Having to buy four when I wasn't prepared for it was a shock to the system.

    That sucks!!!  My car has been squealing while I drive, and I have not wanted to take it in just for that same reason.  SMH

    Ouch! I know that feeling. A week before I had DS my car died. $1600 later it was fixed but a newborn+waiting a month for maternity pay=not cool for the bank account.

    Boo to tires! My folks keep saying I need new ones but I drive a car that uses the larger Wrangler tires...so looking forward to getting even two of those! I want to move out first!

    Yikes. Have you tired to find used tires somewhere? Last time I needed a new tire, I just got a used one. Sounds bad, but it's just as good, they have to still be in good condition. Or have you checked online? A friend of mine got a really good deal because she bought them online.

    Try Sams or Costco.  I needed a new tire last week due to a knot.  I found the exact same tire at Sam's that a tire shop offered.  Sam's was $89 and the tire shop was $140.

    I hear ya. The tires for my big a$$ SUV are about $400...per tire.
