Pregnant after IF

Beta # 2 in

Hi ladies!

I got my second beta in which is up to 1,781 from 213 a week ago. I'm worried that the doubling time is too slow.

I calculated it at 54.83 but last week they told me as long as it was good today I wouldn't have any more blood draws and now they want me to come back Monday.

Any advice?

Re: Beta # 2 in

  • I've always been told at my clinic that they like to see a doubling time of 48-72 hours.  You are definitely closer to the 48!

Hopefully Monday's beta comes back with reassuring news!

  • Thanks! Thats what I thought but now I am questioning it!

At least they aren't making me wait a whole week again.

  • This would be totally within the normal range (48-72) at my clinic!  Good luck!
  • Mine never doubled in 48 ... always in the 60+ hour range.  I'm 9.5 weeks now and babe looks great.  :)

  • Great news, congrats!  PP's are right, 48-72 hour doubling time and you are right in that range... even on the faster side of things!  Sounds great!  Good luck with your b/w... I had to go until I got to 5000 so they could set up an ultrasound.  Maybe it's just something like that.  :)

  • My betas were always slow doublers - at a rate of only 70-80% per 48 hour period.  I was in beta hell for 2 weeks and was miserable.  But I'm still pregnant!  Try not to worry about it too much, I think your beta looks fine btw.  Congratulations!
