It seems like most May mamas have babies that are rolling at least one way already. Should I be concerned that Charlotte isn't there yet? I figured she'd do the back to tummy first so I try to work with her on it, but she doesn't seem too interested. Is there something I should be doing? It's not like she just lays there (she constantly kicks - feet always moving), but it just doesn't seem like she cares to roll.
Re: Not rolling yet?
My Charlotte isn't rolling yet either. She can get to her side, but that's it. Like your's its not like she just lays there, she's moving and wiggling all over, just isn't rolling yet.
Here's a site I found that lists what they should be doing when in the first year: https://www.americanpregnancy.org/firstyearoflife/firstyeardevelopment.html According to it, babies don't roll until the 5th month. I planned on asking my pedi at Charlotte's 4 month appt unless she does it before them.
Emma isn't really even close. And she is terrible at tummy time - barely lifts her head (though she can, she just doesnt like doing it).
I'm not concerned. She just turned 3 months, and I don't know any adults who cant lift their head or roll over, so she will get there eventually. I don't think there is any evidence that early rolling leads to higher SAT scores.
Point being - don't worry about it! She will get there
Ari is 4 months old today and just started rolling from tummy to back yesterday.
He had a "fluke roll" at 3 weeks or so from back to tummy...but it never happened again.
