What weird terms or expressions were you not familiar with before meeting your H/SO?
I had never heard of one dollar bills being called 'singles' or actually met anyone who said 'pop' when he really meant coke. Also...he didn't know about sneakers and grinders. Loser. Haha.
Re: Ok piggybacking off the last poll
My DH is from Texas (born and raised, small town Texan)
They say "Fixin too" or "usedtocould"
"We are fixin to go to the store"
"I usedtocould do that"
I have never heard grinnies!!! Too funny!! And I thought a toboggan was a sled too.
We are fixin' to do a lot down here...or even 'fittin to' for the lazy folks.
I say tour like you do. Ooooh new poll coming up!
Also...my sister 'puts gas'. She says "I have to go put gas" and I wait for her to finish - as in "in my car" but she never does. Weird.
Shoestrings. Instead of shoelaces. I've never heard anyone else in the world call them shoestrings.
DH and I are from the same town, but I've noticed a couple of weird ones:
Although we live in the center of town, anytime we go shopping: Let's go to town and go shopping"
and when we get there we look for the closest park (instead of parking spot).
