Where I'm from, it's called fizzy drink. I call it fizzy drink in the comfort of my own home but when I am out in the general population, I call it soda. Because Americans can be mean.

This may be a dumb question. Are you from Ireland?

Coke, ginger ale, root beer, I tend not to use a general term, just what I am planning on having. I guess if I had to call it a genereal term it would be pop.
my Dh is from Texas and when we go back to his hometown and we go out to eat this is how it goes:
Waitress: What can I get you to drink
DH: Dr. Pepper
Waitress: What kind
seriously...weird. They call any kind of soda Dr. Pepper.
Weird, because DH is also from Texas and I have never heard his family say that when we go back there.
I'm from Texas and I have also never heard this. Even in Dublin, TX where they make Dr. Pepper, I have never heard them refer to all sodas/pop/coke as Dr. Pepper.

Yea, he is from a small-ish town. Everyone knows everyone and they are all "good 'ol boys" and all tote guns around.
DH is from a really small town also, Canadian.
Oh that is small, way up there by Amarillo right? I have no idea, I just asked my DH and he said he knew where it was. He's from San Angelo...middle of nowhere

Blackpool is a really fun place. My parents used to take us there on vacation when we were little.
