Tip about Your in hospital attire

Make sure its maternity if you are wearing PJ's. You will still have quite a belly and its all mushy because there is no baby in there. I was actually quite shocked the 1st time when I looked down and it was still there. For most women regular Pj's and coming home clothes will still be too tight

Re: Tip about Your in hospital attire

  • Good advice.

If it fit you at around 5-6 months pregnant it should fit you PP. I woudl not go any smaller.

  • ditto ditto ditto. I sort of chuckled the other day when a few people talked about wearing their reg jeans home with a bella band...good luck with that.  Not only do you still look pg but you usually are SOOOO bloated with water weight from teh post-partum hormones, etc.

Plus jeans and stitches just seem like a bad idea overall.

That's exactly what I was going to say!  I've never had a kid, but I laughed when I read the person who was bringing their jeans and a bella band.  It just sounds so uncomfortable!

  • JEANS!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I wore yoga pants and tees for about 2 months PP. I cant imagine how that would feel against your swollen uterus. I even stopped wearing them now because if I have to sit it kind of hurts. I didnt look at my arrival home as a fashion show since no one was there to notice me anyway
  • I could wear my maternity jeans pretty quickly, but only because they have such a saggy crotch LOL.  But regular jeans....heck no. I *could* fit into them pretty quickly, but did I *want* to....NO.

  • I was going to write "duh" as a response to your OP, but apparently it's not as much common sense as I thought.
  • I agree.  The thought of jeans after delivery makes me cringe! hahah I will be sporting a sweatsuit.

  • Gah! I don't like wearing jeans now! I'm better off in my work dress pants.

  • I wore jeans with abby (cause i didnt know better and they were too big for me nonpg) Yeah...uh OUCH. PLEASE WEAR COMFY PANTS!!! lol

Needless to say, yoga pants made an appearance with Mikey. lol

  • i bought pjs that fit me now just a lil snug, so hopefully thyey will fit in the hospital after the baby comes. i haven't bought any pjs in maternity though.?
  • I have nothing to wear.  I'm just going to wrap a sheet around me and call it good.  I may have to run to Old Navy this week.  Most of my sweat pants are getting too tight.  Grr.
  • I never wore maternity PJs with either pregnancy, just regular old ones. Wore them home from the hospital and plan to do the same this time. My belly was pretty much gone asap (flame away but, it was the last thing I expected and didn't do anything special!!) and was in regular jeans within a week or two. It's a good plan, but isn't true for everyone.
