Do all cervix checks hurt? OUCH!

I had my first cervical check yesterday at 36w2days and OUCH! I am 1 cm dilated & 50% effaced, midwife stated it should get better as I progress but I had to change clothes & put on a pad when I left. I really really hurt!! Little man weighs 6lbs 8 oz & his head was measuring a little ahead but everything else was fine so the weight may be off a little. My fluid levels went from 14 down to 9 so now it's weekly ultrasounds, hopefully that improves so I'm drowning myself with water. Hopefully the more I become dilated, the less painful this will be.

    I have them about once a week b/c my cervix has been getting soft & they are NEVER fun!!!

    Despite all the hellish IF treatments I've had, I still mainly hate the speculum.  It just hurts.  Glad things are looking good and hope that fluid level increases
