I need some ideas for activities to do at a baby shower. Id like maybe something guests could all make that would be a keep sake. I also wnat it to be fun for them, and not take too long.
I think a fingerprint tree guest book would be cute, fun and fast. I think it would look great later hanging in the nursery (although it would depend on the theme).
There are a lot of etsy sellers who make these. Here are just a couple:
I would usually agree with PPs but my shower was just this past Sunday and my friend actually had the guests do something really cute that I appreciated:
Each table had a stack of cardstock, folded construction paper, note cards ,etc.. and a small box with markers and stickers. They were asked to pick any holiday of their choice and make a "Baby's First" card for the LO- baby's first birthday, christmas, easter, halloween, etc...
It was nice because it wasn't a corny game but it got people at each table chatting (some tables were a mix of different friends or sides of the family that might not have known each other well, but wound up chatting as they discussed what holiday they picked, commenting on one another's decorations, etc...).
The entire stack of finished cards fit neatly in one manilla envelope for me to take home and put in my filing cabinet, so there really wasn't any clutter.

That is a really neat idea! I also like when the guests decorate onesies or bibs for the baby. As a guest at showers I personally enjoy these types of activities.
Have the guests draw/write a note on a diaper. Don't look at the diapers until it's time to use them. It will be fun for you to review. A friend did this at her shower. The activity was slow in the beginning while everyone was thinking of something to write but at the end she had a box full of diapers. Someone drew a 'tramp stamp' on the diaper, others offered guitar lessons to redeem at age 12, definitions of blow outs,etc.... Ppl get creative!

For my sister-in-laws shower we bought a bunch of plain white onesies, plain white bibs and fabric markers. Everyone got to customize an item. It turned out really cute. I'm definitely doing this at mine.
I've hosted 2 showers and bought a hardbound picture book and had all the guests sign the book for the mother to be to keep for the baby. The book either matched the nursery or the shower theme.

I love the tree idea. It is really cute. Even if you didnt write the names above each fingerprint (I could see that getting kinda messy) it is still cute and it will remind you of your shower and family/friends who were there for you!

At my shower we are decorating onsies with sharpie fabric markers (I was so excited when my best friend told me about that!) and anyone who wants too can also decorate pages for a scrapbook for the baby. There will be a table or two with everything people need to do either activity, if they want before we get down to tea and desserts (I'm having a tea party baby shower it sounds like from my friend.) However, the big thing for me is that there are activities there for people who would like to do them, but people who don't, won't have to.
P.S. I love the diaper idea. I will have to ask my friend what she thinks.
I saw an episode of A Baby Story where the mom-to-be got a "cast", if you will, of her belly made at the shower. Many of the guests helped make the paper mache parts, etc.
If that idea is a little much, I saw another episode where everyone at the shower made a different page in a scrapbook. The pictures, paper, scissors, etc. were all provided. Then at the end of the shower they put it all in a baby themed scrapbook for the mom-to-be. I thought that was a really cute and fun idea. Plus it really doesn't take the guests too long to make one page. They can probably do it while the mom opens gifts.

Pass.
I hate clutter.
I don't need "keepsakes" from other people's baby showers. I just don't care that much.
