Did you or will you reuse bottles for kid #2? I am on the fence with this one, as I don't think DS' bottles were BPA free ones. But then I remember reading that the BPA issue comes into play when the bottles are heated and we only heated the bottles when we washed them in the dishwasher, never in the microwave if that makes a difference.
What did you do? We have a ton of Avent bottles and the thought of just throwing them out pains me.

This although I see no problem using the nipples if you boil them and they're still in good shape. I wouldn't use them if they weren't BPA free, the dishwasher does get hot enough to be a problem. You may be able to look up the kind and see if it's BPA free.
The only reason I am getting new nipples is b/c I have heard the holes can stretch out with use, and if you plan to BF, you want to make sure they are not getting milk faster from the bottle than they are from the breast, so they won't favor the bottle.
Who knows if that is true - but I think I will at least get new level 1s - since I didn't switch to level 2 until he was already being FF, then I might not bother getting new ones for that, since I won't really care at that point - just as long as she isn't choking on the flow.
As far as cleanliness, I agree andI think they would be just fine.
