I consider myself neat without being a clean freak.
Unfortunately I have a husband. He's a disaster. And once Anna is mobile, I will never win the neat battle in my house.
Ever.

Ha, no! My car is a mess and my nightstand, closet and side of the bed are scary sometimes. The rest of the house stays pretty neat thanks to DH and I do "clean" just not good about straightening.

Yes, actually to the extreme. I dust, vaccuum and steam or swiffer my floors once a day. I actually have panic attacks over things not being clean, if I see something that is dirty or a smudge on the table or counter I cannot leave the house until I clean it. I'm like this about my house and my car.
Huge downfall of mine- I really need to learn to relax. Thank god DH is a neat freak too- he understands my issues. We have a cleaning lady- DH was hoping this would help me calm down- it's helped a little- but now I clean before she comes because I don't want her to think we are messy people!

A small house, a toddler, and a messy husband= a losing battle.
story of my life. mh is a pig and i just don't have the time or energy to spend 2 hours a night cleaning and organizing any more so our house has just gotten out of control. we need to purge ASAP
ADD-me, umm, not so much. Clutter doesn't bother me in the least. And, a small house with a toddler and more stuff than we need, it is a challenge that is beyond me. I know that this drives DH a little insane.

Yeah I am a little obsessive about it! Like last night I was laying in bed and could not sleep because I was thinking about how the toilet needed to be cleaned, so I got up and cleaned it at 11 pm!

I may have been on the verge of OCD prior to DD, but now I like to be "neat" and certain things must remain "clean" but DD is my miny tornado, so as best as can be expected with Tornado Reese running through....

I consider myself fairly neat, but MH is a clean freak, so I always feel like a sloppy slacker relative to him! I can be mid-cooking and turn around to use the 1/4 cup again and can't find it. And then I realize he snuck into the kitchen and put it into the dishwasher!
Yes I'm Monica from Friends. DH is the opposite. It amazes me how he can just sit on the couch when there are toys strewn about and dishes in the sink. At night I cannot sit down and relax until all the toys are put back and the sinks and counters cleaned.

I used to be very neat and organized, now not at all and I hate it. Even my mom said to me, "I have never ever seen your house like this before!" My house is too small, too cluttered and I don't have the time, energy or motivation to do anything about it. I am in a nesting mode now though and things are getting done.

Yes and I have anxiety over certain parts of my house not being organized. But I plan on solving this problem when my hubby goes out of town soon for a long weekend

LOL this is so me! When DH's mom is here I drive her nuts because she leaves things out on the counter and I always put them away or in the sink and then she'll ask me where it is and I'll say I cleaned it up. I hate clutter on my countertops! When I do clean/bake, I rinse each item and put it in the sink as soon as I pour the ingredients out of it in prep for the next step.
DH is the opposite. I had known him for 12 years when we got married so I knew it but it's BAD. It's actually gotten better, but it's not instinctive for him.
With kids it's a lost cause. The worst thing about it is that the girls aren't seeing how important it is to respect one's things.
How much I wold give for a weekend with no one else here to do it all! Elena can come home to nurse but then they have to leave again. Even better would be having local family who could take the girls one evening every couple weeks so DH and I could work together to get a couple rooms done. I still need to sort through my maternity clothes, if that tells you anything; about once a month I start but don't finish and have to start over the next month.

My husband and I are both disasters naturally. We both have to work at being neat; it doesn't come naturally at all. Good for our marriage (that we're similar), bad for the state of our house.
My house can be hit or miss. Right now, mess but I don't have time to clean it. I need to vaccum and mop..I have two dogs so this is a must like every other day we are going now on like 3..it's yucky..and I have laundry upstairs that I HAVE to fold (I hate doing this chore)..

I am one of those people who conforms to what's around me. I think if left to my own devices, I would be pretty neat. But DH is NOT, and that is a huge downfall for me. If he leaves stuff sitting around, I am more likely to do it, too.
We actually have some dates coming up that DH is taking off of work to help me get things organized around here because it's driving me CRAZY.

Every word ditto. I resisted falling to the lowest common denominator for a few years, but by my 3rd trimester with Kira, it became too hard. I feel like I've been playing catch up ever since. And I now sit with messes around me which I never could have done previously.

YES! I am definitely the person that cooks lunch and has most of it cleaned up before I've even eaten. I put all toys, clothes, papers, etc. away every single night before bed. My DH is pretty good about it after living with me for 7 years, but now that we are with the in-laws it is TOUGH. They are NOT neat people at all, and it makes my anxiety level go through the roof. I just keep telling myself it is temporary.
I am. My DH is like an 8 year old boy with no parents...drives me up the wall!!! I'm not a neat freak but, there are things I'm super OCD about and it makes me crazy when he touches things in my cabinets. All of my cabinets are neat and everything faces a certain way.
ETA: I just re-read this and it's clear how ocd I am about *my* cabinets

This, exactly.
Somewhat. I try to keep up with cleaning and my house looks presentable most of the imte but I dont go crazy.

By nature, very much so.
